The author has selected the illuminating sayings of the Prophet(PBUH) and those of his Companions and the Salaf. These pieces of advice will encourage good friendship in Muslim society and will open the door wide to establish a civilized Islamic culture. This society based on true friendship will breed justice, equality, and love for humanity. Islam advises to be secure while selecting friends as a person has the same qualities as his friend has. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) said:

الرَّجُلُ عَلَى دِينِ خَلِيلِهِ فَلْيَنْظُرْ أَحَدُكُمْ مَنْ يُخَالِلُ   (Sunan Abi Dawud 4833)

A man follows the religion of his friend, So let one of you see that to whom he is doing friendship.

The book is defining types of friendship by giving assistance that to whom we should make friend, which kind of friendship is best and which rules should be followed when you get a friend or become a friend to anyone.
